Our wonderful London Marathon runners raise over £11,000!
A HUGE Thank You and Congratulations to our courageous marathon runners who participated in the 44th annual London Marathon for WLAC! They are an inspiration to us all.
This year’s four marathon runners were: Lance Cocoran, Lucy Gore, Rupert Lewis and Sam Jones. All of them achieved this amazing feat on a cold, but thankfully dry day. As usual the atmosphere was fantastic and the support on the streets was nothing short of amazing. Fancy dress outfits included full chain mail, a carrot costume and Eddie-the-exercise-book.
A gigantic THANK YOU to all our runners for their support, hard work and dedication to WLAC – together they have raised over £11,000. And a thank you also to our wonderful Marathon Coordinator Kate Palmer (who also ran for us in 2016).
The London Marathon generates some outstanding stories each year and in 2024 has already raised a staggering £67 million for charitable causes with a colossal 53,000 participants taking part - the youngest runner being just 18 and the oldest an impressive 91 years old.
