Brook Green’s Safari Supper raises over £9,300 for WLAC!

This year’s Neighbourhood Nosh took place in May, and saw 12 local households hosting neighbours from across Brook Green.

The evening started with prosecco and canapes in the beautiful garden of Albert and Carolina Brenninkmeijer-de Bourbon, where Heather Boxer introduced WLAC and our work in the community. Nina Thomas, one of our child & adolescent psychotherapists, then presented an insightful and thought-provoking case study focused on a young adolescent who was able to engage in therapy, and the profound effect this had had on his family and school life.

Guests then made their way to their hosts for a delicious main course, before moving on to their third host of the evening for dessert and cheese.  Laughter and conversation could be heard ringing through the streets of Brook Green, as guests enjoyed an evening with friends, both old and new.

Our huge thanks go to all the hosts for their generosity in opening up their homes; all the guests who donated so generously; estate agent Finlay Brewer for sponsoring the Prosecco and wine; and to Isabel, Brian, Emma, Gilly, Hettie, Jane and Vicky from The Brook Green Events Group for once again organising such a successful evening.

We are thrilled that that this year’s Neighbourhood Nosh raised over £9,300 that will go towards our crucial work with disadvantaged families in West London.
