Shining Stars
“The relaxation helped. I shared the relaxation with my friends and my teacher is now playing relaxation music to the class in the morning and afternoon.”
What is Shining Stars?
Shining Stars is an exciting new programme that we began following a request from Ark Swift Primary School to deliver a bespoke group for children in Years 1 and 2 that had been identified by the school as struggling to engage in their school community in a way that allowed them to be and feel successful.
What to expect
Lots of arts and crafts activities and role play, incorporating narrative therapy and solution-focused therapy.
Benefits
We encourage children to think about the things that make them sparkle in the hearts and their minds. These are the things that make them special, the things they are good and the things they enjoy doing.
The group environment aims to be is tangible, non-threatening and stimulating to 5-7 year old children.
How to get a referral
Participating children selected by school. Contact WLAC at team@wlac.org.uk to ask if we can run a group in your primary school.
