A fabulous day for a bike ride! Ride London cyclists raise over £3000 for WLAC!
Originally intended as a legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Ford RideLondon-Essex 100 ride is the ultimate annual cycling challenge and the UK’s largest closed-road mass participation cycling event. It takes place on traffic-free routes and this year’s ride took 20,600 riders from a stunning start on Victoria Embankment, along the Thames in Central London, through picturesque Essex villages and countryside, finishing on Tower Bridge in central London. The event has raised millions of pounds for various charities since its inception and this year was no exception.
Participants in the 100km challenge - and heroes for WLAC - included one of our regular volunteers, Isobel Leaviss, who raised almost £2,500 (smashing her target of £1,000.) and she was joined by a friend, Stuart Risdale, who raised £670. Well done, and thank you both!
