Lightning Talks #6 - William Morris in Hammersmith, The art of standing still, Edinburgh fringe….and more!

After the success of Lightning Talks #5, we were delighted to be invited back to Kite Studios to host our sixth edition of the event in September, which also helped to kick off the ‘Askew Road Arts Week.

Lightning Talks is a local, warm and friendly event featuring presenters speaking for approximately 5 minutes each, using just five slides, on a subject they feel passionate about, often exploring an unusual or quirky angle. The event was a sell out, and the audience enjoyed a unique opportunity to hear captivating stories on a variety of  fascinating subjects from local residents including: Boltzmann Brains; William Morris in Hammersmith; Why baroque?; Street signs in London; The art of standing still; and Producing a play at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.  Our supporters gained new insights and were inspired by the incredible talent and knowledge within our community.  The evening included delicious home-made appetisers made by our wonderful volunteers and a glass or two of wine.  We raised almost £1,000 to enable us to continue our vital work in Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea.  A big THANK YOU to Auriol Herford (founder of Kite Studios) for agreeing to host the event.

Our next event will be taking place on Thursday 27th March 2025More details on how to register coming soon!
