Holiday hampers for over 90 client families

WLAC Holiday Hampers are special boxes we deliver every year to our client families, to be enjoyed for Christmas. Our hampers are large, plastic boxes or red holdalls, crammed full of store cupboard essentials, toiletries and beautiful gifts generously donated by our friends at the Junior League of London (JLL). The hampers help our client families feel the spirit of the holidays at a time of year that is especially difficult for so many and, with this act of kindness, the JLL always go the extra mile to show our clients that they are not alone.

This year, over 90 hampers were prepared, which were especially full thanks to the kindness of Kew Green Preparatory School who donated beautiful gifts, toys and games.  We were also very grateful to receive gifts and vouchers from the school community at The Unicorn School, and hand-made cards from pupils at Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School that accompanied each box/bag.  The hampers were lovingly created by carefully selecting items to suit each client family and the members of their household.  ArtGo once again generously donated space for our admin team and volunteers to store, sort and assemble the hampers.  Our wonderful volunteers then set out on their ‘sleighs’ to hand deliver the hampers to our clients.

Our grateful thanks go to: the Junior League of London; Kew Green Preparatory School; The Unicorn School; Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School; and Martin Keaney and his fantastic team at ArtGo Ltd for providing the space for us to work from.

Client quotes:

“I have no words to thank you and the entire team at WLAC. The gifts were priceless and they have brought great joy to the children and myself. The youngest one wrote to Santa and said he wanted Hot Wheel cars and that is exactly what came! He said” I love Santa”. It did not bring some joy - it brought lots of joy. I am so grateful. Thank you so much. Merry Xmas.”

“I just received the Christmas bag from the charity and I wanted to say how grateful I am, it is amazing that those donations are being made and I really appreciate it. The hand drawn card was very sweet.”
